We
are very excited to list two new Colts. Both of
these guns are nothing short of spectacular. Once
again, I urge anyone that looks at these guns to check out
the guns on
www.gunsamerica.com and
www.gunbroker.com.
Compare what you see there to what we are offering here.
Compare features and prices. If you are in a buying
mood, you'll know what to do. If you are in a shopping
mood....well....just enjoy what you see. The first gun is
a new Colt SAA, serial #S44804A. It's a 5 1/2" .45.
It is nickel plated with one piece African elephant ivory
grips. Just look at that grain! The engraving is a "C++" level of coverage in a
Cuno Helfricht style including the front sight and the hammer.
The engraver has even engraved the inside of the gate
surface where your thumb contacts. The engraving
coverage has been inked and all of the small parts have been
given the rich treatment of fire blue. The panel
screws have each been qualified to tighten when the slots
are exactly in the horizontal position. The action has
been custom tuned so if the owner of this Colt decides to
fire it the feeling will be of silky smooth precision with a
crisp clean trigger break. The pictures of this masterpiece
actually speak for themselves but please take the time to
click on each picture and take in the attention to detail.
If you know Colt engraving, you will also know that guns
like this one are very difficult if not impossible to find
on the open market. If you do not know about
engraving, you will at least know that you are seeing
something very beautiful and very special. PRICE ($3,950.00)

Here
is a brand new very special Colt SAA. This one is a
.45 caliber with 4 3/4" barrel. It's the cosmetics that make
this gun special. Let's start with those awesome one
piece genuine pre-ban elephant ivory matching bark grips.
These grips just pop and give this Colt the look of the old
West. You seldom see ivory like this. The finish
on this gun, serial number S46949A, is the next special
feature. While this gun is brand new, we have plated
it in the antique style. The piece shows as giving a
softer appearance. We have also given this Colt a
custom tuned action and recut the forcing cone to an exact
11 degrees. Cocking this Colt is like driving a Ferrari.
Powerful, yet smooth as silk. The engraving coverage is a
strong "C++" in a blend of American styles. The
clamshell pattern on the barrel is particularly striking.
This is a colt that would make any collector proud. PRICE ($4,150.00) |

G-3 |
 There
are so many features on this new Colt SAA I don't know where
to begin. It is one of the most popular collector caliber
and barrel lengths 4 3/4" .45 caliber. Serial
number on this Colt is S46956A. The
"C++ coverage is a blend of the styles L.D. Nimschke who emigrated
to the U.S. from Germany circa 1850 and Cuno Helfricht. Nimschke's most famous
gun was the Colt he engraved for Teddy Roosevelt. This
masterpiece has been specially prepared for engraving for
Nutmeg Sports at the Colt Custom Gun Shop. The cylinder
flutes have been beveled and the backstrap ears and hammer
contour have been meticulously matched. The engraver has
fully covered the front sight, the hammer, and the inside of
the gate and gate seat as well as the inside front of the
trigger guard where the fingers wrap. The gun is nickel
plated and inked with a wonderful treatment of fire bluing
on the small parts. The panel screws are qualified so they
line up exactly in the horizontal position when tightened.
Take note of the special engraving on the hammer. The rear
contour between the backstrap ears and the top surface of
the hammer have felt the artist's chisel. Each side of
the hammer is breathtakingly engraved with the depiction of
an eagle's head and wing. In addition the hammer shows
a snake's body beneath the eagle. True artistry
such as this is rare. The
grips on this masterpiece are absolutely breathtaking.
This is African elephant ivory at it's best. This Colt
has also received a completely custom tuned action job.
If you decide to shoot this gun you will find that this gun
functions like it has internal parts made of silk. Search the web.
Check the auction gun sites. You will not find a Colt
this nice. If you are able to find anything even near
the way this gun shows and we doubt you will, it will be priced thousands higher.
Take your time and really look at these detailed photos.PRICE ($3,950.00) |

We
are offering another new Colt SAA for sale. This gun
is a little different than any we have pictured on our list.
It is a 4 3/4" 45 caliber,
serial #S41445A. What makes this Colt different is the
unique application of the engraving and the selected pattern. Closely examine the
pictures and you will see the results of the meticulous hand
use of the hammer and chisel. The scroll almost seems
to be alive as it flows into and around this revolver's
components. The breathtaking pattern seems to connect
and bring the metal pieces together in a manner that is
extremely pleasing to the eye. The intricate lines
intertwine and dart in, out and through the ribbon like
scroll. The coverage is a very generous "C++". The
hammer and front sight, as well as the gate seat and gate surface where the
thumb contacts have all felt the artist's chisel. The
finish is bright nickel and the surface has been inked and
baked to clearly show the beauty of the engraving. The
hammer has been recontoured to match the backstrap ears.
The panel screws are
qualified to tighten precisely at the horizontal position,
and all of the small parts have been given the stunning
treatment of fireblueing including that bull's eye ejector
rod head. Lastly, the grips on this Colt are of the one piece configuration
and display spectacular grain lines that tell you
unmistakably that they are genuine African elephant ivory.
This gun will fit nicely into the finest of collections and
could easily be considered the crown jewel of many
collections.

This
Colt SAA serial #S44128A is also a 5 1/2" 45 caliber. The
engraving is our usual generous level of (C+) coverage
including the front sight, hammer, and inside the gate. The
finish is bright nickel and the surface has been inked and
baked to clearly show the beauty of the engraving. The
hammer has been recontoured to match the backstrap ears. The panel screws are
qualified to tighten precisely at the horizontal position,
and all of the small parts have been given the stunning
treatment of fireblueing including that bull's eye ejector
rod head. The grips are the one piece configured genuine
African elephant ivory and they display a marvelous grain
pattern. The engraving on this Colt is an extremely
fine American style. We have given this one our usual
custom tuned silky smooth action job as well. This gun
has been signed by the engraver in at least 5 different
locations. A very affordable and masterful
collectible.

 Here
is another brand new Colt SAA. It is consecultively
serialized to our other new Colt SAA number G-3. This
one is S46955A and it also is a .45 with a 4 3/4" barrel.
This gun was masterfully and lavishly covered with scroll in
the style of L.D. Nimschke. There is very little in
the way of un-engraved surface area remaining on this Colt.
The hammer alone is covered on nearly every square
centimeter possible. The inside of the gate is covered
as well. Even the panel screws on this Colt have felt
the artist's chisel. The grips are hand selected
pre-ban African elephant ivory. The action has been
custom tuned. Once again, I urge
folks to look at
www.gunbroker.com and
www.gunsamerica.com.
You won't be able to find a gun as nice as this at any
price.

This
is another real nice color 5 1/2" .45 Colt SAA. It has
everything that all of our guns have yet it is totally
different. It's just as nice but different. The
coverage is "C++" and of course it
is another brand new unfired unturned gun in its factory
fresh Custom Gun shop carton. Serial #S44161 gun with all of my normal extras and even more. The
finish is nickel but it has been done in a softer antique
style. It gives the appearance of an older engraved
Colt that could have some wonderfull stories to tell if only
it could talk. The
engraving is still based on German-American engraving of the
late 19th century. It is in the style of L.D. Nimschke and
Cuno Helfricht, very bold and unmistakable. The coverage
which is inked shows almost as a "D."
In addition to the normally engraved places, this
masterpiece is engraved on the front sigh, the hammer sides and rear contour, the gate seat and two surfaces of
the gate. The engraver has
signed this gun in two different locations. The grips on this masterpiece are of
African elephant ivory, in the one piece configuration with
natural color that shows grain that you just very seldom
see. This gun would represent a wonderful addition to the
finest collection or that one time gun you have always
wanted. The action on this gun has been custom tuned and
gives the feel of silky smoothness with a nice clean crisp
trigger break.PRICE ($3,850.00) |

G-8 |
This
new Colt SAA is one of the most profusely engraved guns we
have ever listed. The particular gun is a second
generation vintage serial number 41664SA. The caliber
is .45 and the barrel length is 5 1/2". The finish is
nickel, with the added feature of ink and bake that really
causes the engraving coverage to pop. The panel screws
have each been qualified to tighten at precisely the
horizontal position. The coverage on this fine Colt is
full "D+" in the style of Rudolph Kornbrath who emigrated to
the U.S. from Austria in 1910 and soon became a dominant
force until he was struck with a disabling stroke in 1937.
Virtually no areas of this revolver remain untouched by the
artist's chisel. Places that are rarely engraved have
received special treatment. The cylinder flutes always
represent a big challenge for an engraver because of their
concave shape. Each flute has been painstakingly
engraved. The loading gate, gate seat and gate front
have each been covered. The face and rear of the
cylinder is engraved between each chamber hole. The
front sight and the hammer are fully engraved. The
inside front of the trigger guard where the fingers wrap is
engraved. Each of the panel screws have even been
engraved. The grips are genuine African elephant ivory
in the one piece configuration. Each grip panel has
been hand scrimshawed with an image of an angel. One
angel is displayed extending an olive branch and the
opposite angel shows an ominous raised sword. The
artist was so proud of this work, he has signed this gun
three times. In over forty years, this is one of the
finest and most fully engraved Colts it has been my pleasure
to offer.PRICE ($5,950.00) |

Our newest Colt is a gun with a similar style of
engraving we have featured before with tremendous success.
The serial number is S33647A and it is a 4 3/4" nickel
plated SAA in .45 caliber. The style is another blend of
the classical styles of Nimschke and Helfricht and shows
like a full "D"coverage. The front sight and hammer are
even engraved. Our engraver has even taken the time to
engrave the inside of the surface where the thumb touches to
open the gate. This is a place that seldom if ever see the
engraver's chisel. The effect is just stunning. We have
qualified the panel screws so that all of the slots are
horizontal and have matched the backstrap ears to the rear
contour of the hammer just the way Colt used to do it fifty
years ago. A complete fire blue package as well as inked
and baked engraving add wonderfully to this fine
masterpiece. The grips are hand selected one piece African
Elephant ivory and are a beautifully colored.

Another
new Colt for Nutmeg. Serial # S33980A is a 4 3/4" .45 that
has been lavishly covered in a very strong "D" scroll that
shows more like a "D+". As usual I had the artist cover the
front sight as well as the hammer and the inside of the gate
where the thumb makes contact. The pattern on this
masterpiece is a blending of an American style with that of
the style of the German Master, Rudolph Kornbrath. The cuts
are deep and bold and the background has been heavily
relieved. This wonderful piece has been plated with nickel
and then given the treatment of ink and bake followed by a
complete fire bluing of all of the small parts. The
engraver has signed this masterpiece in three places.
Coverage even includes the cylinder flutes. It is almost
unheard of to engrave the cylinder flutes of a single
action, but this one has that rare feature. The backstrap
ears have been matched to the rear contour of the hammer,
and the panel screws are completely qualified so that they
tighten with the slots in the horizontal position. The
backstrap has also been reconfigured to the Bird's Head"
style. The grips are beautifully grained African elephant
ivory in the one piece configuration.

This one is a 5 1/2" nickel plated gun in .45 long Colt
caliber. Serial # S33457A has a very strong "C" level of
coverage including the front sight and hammer. On this gun I
asked the engraver to apply some engraving to the inside of
the loading gate where the thumb contacts. She did a
wonderful job. The style is the classic L.D. Nimschke.
This gun is signed twice by the engraver. The small parts
have all been given the striking treatment of fire blue, and
the engraving has been inked to add visual clarity. Notice
how the ears of the backstrap have been matched to the
hammer contour just like Colt used to do it 50 years ago.
The grips are hand selected genuine African elephant ivory

would fit into the finest of Colt collections.

Our
newest Colt is a gun with the same type of engraving we have
featured before with tremendous success. It is a copy of
the famous "Lucky Lady" gun that was originally engraved by
the master Ben Lane Jr. Our rendition is not exactly the
same and has a few added features. The serial number is
S33458A and it is a 5 1/2" nickel plated SAA in .45
caliber. The style is pure classic Helfricht and the
coverage is just shy of a full "D". Of course we have had
the front sight and hammer engraved. Our engraver has even
taken the time to engrave the inside of the trigger guard
where the fingers wrap as well as the inside of the gate
surface where the thumb touches to open the gate. These are
areas that seldom if ever see the engraver's chisel. The
effect is just stunning. We have qualified the panel screws

Formerly called G-3, this is a gun that I found photos of
and is a pattern that was very popular. I liked it so well
that I sent it out to the engraver and asked her to do it
again with just a couple of modifications. This beauty is a
5 1/2" nickel plated gun in what else but .45 long colt
caliber. The coverage is a very strong "C" level including
the front sight and hammer. The style is the classic L.D.
Nimschke. This gun is signed twice by the engraver. The
small parts have all been given the striking treatment of

Here
is another fabulous SAA from Nutmeg Sports. This one is
serial #S33648A. It is a .45 caliber with a 4 3/4" barrel.
The engraving is our special blending of the classic styles
of L.D. Nimschke and Cuno Helfricht. We have done this
pattern very similarly before and it is always a winner.
This one is meticulously finished in fine sterling silver.
The engraving has been inked and baked and all of the small
parts have received the treatment of fire blueing. We
installed the ever popular bullseye ejector rod head onto
this gun as well. The panel screws have each been qualified
so that they line up horizontally when tightened. The
backstrap ears have been aligned perfectly with the rear
contour of the hammer just the way Colt used to do it 50
years ago. The engraving on this silver plated gun shows as
nicely as any we have seen. It is a very generous "C+"
coverage. The engraver took extra pains to engrave the
inside of the gate as well as the gate pocket. That pocket
engraving is the first time we have done this. We think you
will agree that it looks smashing. The grips are perfectly
matched genuine African elephant ivory and were hand
selected and fitted by me in my own CT shop where I do all
of the ivory work for The Colt Custom Gun Shop. The grips
are in the one piece configuration.

This
new Colt SAA has the bird's head configured backstrap with a
.45 caliber 3 1/2" barrel, serial #S29876A. This gun has a
full ejector rod and rod housing. Prior to 1992 it was
nearly impossible to find a 3 1/2" Colt with an ejector rod
and housing. If you could find one it was usually an after
market conversion. All of Nutmeg's bird's heads come direct
from the Colt Custom Shop that way. The engraving is ours
and this gun is engraved in a Cuno Helfricht style with a
"C" coverage including the front sight and the hammer, and
has been plated in nickel. The engraver has even engraved
the inside of the gate surface where your thumb contacts.
The engraving coverage has been inked and all of the small
parts have been given the rich treatment of fire blue. The
panel screws have each been qualified to tighten when the
slots are exactly in the horizontal position. Take a look
at my new metal prep work. That quarter round area on the

like the guns of fifty years ago. The grips are hand

This
Colt is a wonderfully engraved and silver plated 4 3/4" .45
caliber, serial #S31524A. I asked the engraver to give me a
strong "C" coverage in the ever popular classic Helfricht
style and he really gave me a generous amount of coverage
that would qualify as at least a "C+". The front sight and
hammer have also been meticulously engraved and the coverage
has been fully inked to add visual depth. The engraver even
went so far as to engrave the inside of the gate surface
where the thumb contacts. He also has placed some engraving
on the top of the hammer and the part of the trigger guard
where your fingers wrap. These are areas that are above and
beyond the call for an engraver to touch. My trademark fire
blue package is included and the panel screws have been
qualified to all align perfectly. This masterpiece also has
my new metal prep work that perfectly matches the backstrap
ears with the back of the hammer just like Colt used to do
it fifty years ago. Check that out in the pictures. The
grips are another pair of my hand selected and perfectly
matched one piece configured African Elephant ivory with no

This is our newest gun as of June 1st and is one of the
most spectacular guns we have had at Nutmeg in a long time.
I just gave this gun to one of our engravers and told him to

are stunning. It is a 7 1/2" 44-40 Colt Frontier Six
Shooter #SA66992 covered with a very generous "C+" level of
engraving and clad in nickel plating. The style is a
marvelous blend of L.D.Nimschke, Cuno Helfricht, and the

This Colt is a brand new third generation serial number

inside of the loading gate. The engraver has even engraved
the gate seat on the frame. This is a fairly new feature,
and to our knowledge we are the only ones offering it. As
usual you get more for your money with a Nutmeg Colt. Like
the complete fire blue package and qualified panel screws on
this gun as well as the recontoured backstrap ears that
match the rear contour of the hammer. Colt used to do this
about 100 years ago. The cylinder's chamber leads have been

Here

This one is a semi-auto
Government Model Series 80. It is of course brand
new with it's original box. It is a 45 ACP serial
number 2818312. This gun is fully 100% covered in
classic American scroll. The deep, bold engraving is
visible on virtually every surface of both the slide and the
receiver. Even the magazine tube is engraved on both
sides, the spine and the base plate. You rarely if
ever see this kind of detail. The small parts
on this masterpiece have been given the rich treatment of firebluing that really set this pistol off. The nickel
plating has been inked and baked. This feature makes the
engraving on this gun just pop. The grips are a
perfectly matched pair of African elephant ivory showing
wonderful grain and character. They show a creamy flow
of colors that the pictures don't do justice. The engraver was so
proud of his work on this Colt that the magazine is signed,
the slide is signed, and the receiver is also signed!
Carefully check out these photos. If you know
engraving and have walked the gun show circuit you know that
you just never see guns like this one. For the amount of
engraving coverage, attention to detail, flawless matching
ivory, and perfect finish this gun is
very affordably priced. (PRICE P.O.R.) |

It
is the very popular black powder style frame. It has been
engraved with my usual very strong "C++". The style is a
unique blending of modern American and last century's
Master, L. D. Nimschke. This one even has the cylinder
flutes engraved. The hammer, front sight, top sides and
rear contour of the hammer as well as the gate seat and gate
surface where the thumb contacts have all felt the artist's
chisel. The finish is bright nickel and the surface has
been inked and baked to clearly show the beauty of the
engraving. The hammer has been recontoured to match the
backstrap ears, and the cylinder ends have been beveled.
The panel screws are qualified to tighten precisely at the
horizontal position, and all of the small parts have been
given the stunning treatment of fireblueing including that
bull's eye ejector rod head. The grips are the one piece
configured genuine African elephant ivory.

This brand new Colt SAA is the most popular collector caliber
and barrel length 4 3/4" .45 caliber. The
"C++ coverage is in the style of L.D. Nimschke who emigrated
to the U.S. from Germany circa 1850.
We have added the extremely
popular bull's eye ejector rod head to this Colt. The
grips on this masterpiece are absolutely breathtaking.
This is African elephant ivory showing the finest matching
coloration I have ever seen. Search the web.
Check the auction gun sites. You will not find a Colt
this nice. If you are able to find anything even near
the way this gun shows it will be priced thousand higher.(PRICE POR) |

It
seems like a long time but we finally have a new Colt to put
up for sale. Lately all of our guns have been gobbled
up by eager clients before they ever get put up on the site.
This wonderful Colt is the exception. It is a brand
new 5 1/2" .45, serial number S44162A. The frame
style on this gun is the rare and popular black powder style
and this Colt is shown with the extremely popular bull's eye
ejector rod head. The metal prep
work for this gun was specially done for Nutmeg Sports by
The Colt Custom Gun Shop. The backstrap ears have been
match polished to the rear contour of the hammer. The
panel screws have been qualified to tighten precisely at the
horizontal position. The engraving coverage is an
extremely generous level of "C++" American style scroll.
It is about as close as you can get to a full "D" coverage,
but we always like to see some of the gun. Looking at
this gun you can clearly see the extra time and effort that
the artist put into this work. The front sight, the
hammer, inside of the gate, the gate seat, and the inside of
the trigger guard where the fingers wrap have each felt the
artist's chisel. The finish is a perfect nickel plate
accented by ink and bake, and fire blue small parts.
The action has been custom tuned so if the owner of this
Colt decides to fire it the feeling will be of silky smooth
precision with a crisp clean trigger break. Finally,
the grips on this wonderful Colt are genuine African
elephant ivory in the one piece configuration. The
color is spectacular and is book matched from side to side.
Colts of this quality are very difficult to locate at any
price. Signed twice by the engraver, and affordably
priced. PRICE (P.O.R.) |

It
has been a few months since we posted new guns for sale.
Clients just keep buying them before we even get them on the
site. We kept this one quiet just so we could get a new gun
up. This one is a beauty and worth the wait. It is of
course a Colt SAA 3rd generation. Serial number S39893A.
It has all of our usual bells and whistles but this one has
even more features. It is the ever popular .45 caliber with
a 4 3/4" barrel. The engraving is such a strong "C++" that
I am tempted to just say it is full "D" coverage. The
cutting is flawless and smooth in an updated version of the
famous "Lucky Lady" gun that was engraved just after the
turn on the last century. This masterpiece is just full of
special surprises that can be seen in the pictures.
Accentuating the engraving coverage the artist has engraved
the front sight, the hammer, the inner part of the trigger
guard where the fingers wrap, as well as the inside if the
loading gate. Then in a bold departure this artist has
taken this work to yet another level of beauty. The top of
the hammer is engraved in a twisted rope pattern that
precisely matches the twisted rope pattern seen on the top
strap of the frame. Not stopping there, the rear face of
the cylinder is also engraved in a delicate cross hatch
pattern that can only be seen while the gate is open. While
the gate is open you may also want to see it's front flat
surface. It also is ENGRAVED!! The more you look at this
gun, the more you see! The plating is nickel with the added
accents of fire bluing to the screws, cylinder pin, ejector
rod head and trigger. The surface is inked and baked adding
wonderful depth to the overall effect. The panel screws
have each been qualified to tighten at precisely the
horizontal position. The backstrap ears and rear hammer
contour have been perfectly matched and the engraving of
this area also matches perfectly. Lastly this gun displays
beautifully matching 1 piece African elephant ivory grips.
This highly prized Colt will fit into the finest of
collections.
